Trolley etiquette

Wanted to blog about two things, but I'll save one for my next post. I have to, seeing as I'm desperately running out of things to say.

Went grocery shopping at Woolies on Saturday. Busy day for shopping. The trollies (is that how you spell the plural of trolley? It looks weird, like the plural of troll or something) have turned massive. They're really wide and high now, like they're discriminating against short people like me. Hard to maneuver.

Which brings me to my next stupid and pointless question. Are there any trolley etiquette rules for maneuvering trollies? Stick to the left-hand side of the aisle? Don't stop your trolley at the frozen food section? Give way to elderly and people with children??

On a whole different topic (sorry, no segue), I went to the Riverton library today. Guess what I saw on the counter?? A photo of Dorcas and Sharon at their graduation!!! How random! Why is it stuck there? There are no other photos there. Weird.

YES!!!! the first .... haven't been for so long.. are we still competing???

Anyways I think there are no rules for trollies! at least in my case.. I just do watever i want with them.... for example... leave them 5 meters away from me.. just cos I cant be bothered pushing it 5 meters along with me to get something then push it back to get out of the aisle... damn lazy!!!

Is Dorcas not everywhere?? not surprising to see a pic of her.. really not surprising at all~

Hi Alison!

I must say that I actually posted a comment the day after you put up this post. I don't know why but it didn't publish my comment! So technically, I should have been the first one to put up a comment, not Jul Jul!!! This is not fair. Your blog doesn't like me.

Plural of trolley is trolleys. :-) I reckon they should start installing horns on trolleys so we can start beeping at people who are in the way. I don't understand why but I always seem to have picked the really bad trolleys which are really difficult to push. Have you ever picked a trolley and pushed it into the supermarket and then realise it had something wrong with it? The worse thing is not being able to get out past the cashiers easily.

Dorcas and Sharon have a secret admirer aka stalker out there hunting for them.

Now let's see if this comment is really posted....

a trolley is considered to be a mechanised vehicle, therefore it should follow the usual traffic rules, taking into account lane discipline, and pedestrian safety.

It's quite all right to park the trolley anywhere, but make sure it doesn't obstruct traffic. Also, be careful when changing gears and increasing speed. The laden weight of the trolley can be easily underestimated due to non-working wheel/s, and this might cause an accident if braking force is insufficient.

anyway alison, i think you should put up the hot pictures found on dorcas' blog here hahaaa ;p

Hmm, why am I still getting spam? I've got that word verification thingy on. Grr...

Amy, I'd give you a medal if you wanted. Nah, not really. :] Ahh, you're one of those people hogging the aisles!!!!!

Ahaha Simon, it's a bit scary that you're so obsessive. :] Trolleys does look better than trollies. Heh.

Haven't heard from you in a long time Jeff. And you're still weird. :] Just kidding.
