Superliminal

Was flicking channels last week (I think it was last week, the days seem to run together now!) and saw some ABC program about the Arias shown on Channel 10. Subliminal messages! Apparently Channel 10 was inserting adverts into music video clips.

I searched youtube, found a video. (Have no idea how to post the video, so you'll just have to click the link and watch it that way). If you have trouble finding the subliminal message, pause around 00:02, 00:12, and around 00:20. Have a desire to buy Olay? Well, I don't. How do these subliminal messages work?

It cracks me up! Reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons where N*SYNC were featured, about joining the navy. The general guy said there were 3 types of messages: liminal, subliminal, and superliminal. Superliminal - hey you! Join the navy! (Sorry, probably only die hard Simpson fans would know).

Worryingly?

Finally finished prac. Woohoo for me. :]

I've been falling asleep at the randomest times: during a church leader's meeting, during FNL, and most worryingly (is that a word?) during work. Didn't know think it was possible to be falling asleep during work (as I talk for most of the time). But I fell asleep when the child was answering a question that I asked. Luckily he didn't notice that I was asleep and just kept on repeating his answer.

Must clean room. I literally can't see the floor.

Boo Chris Judd. Boo. :]

The oxymoronic life

Hmm, I wonder if anyone still checks the updates on this blog? :]

Yes, I had given up for a while -- I really didn't have time and couldn't be bothered typing. I still don't have time now, but hey, I'm a queen of procrastinating...

Am on my final prac for the year/course, so woohoo! One week down, five more prac weeks to go! Super (or, as my students spell it -- soopa) tired, but in a good way? Fulfilled exhaustion? Oxymoron? Eh...

Something I've realised that annoys me a lot: not putting texta lids back on the textas. I have an almost obsessive compulsion to put lids back on textas if I see it! I know, rather random but.. put your lids back on your textas people!

Oh, yet another embarrassing moment in the life of Alison ------ my grandmother's 80th b'day is coming soon: us grandchildren have to get up on stage and sing 2 Cantonese songs (complete with actions). Woohoo to the max... :]

Thought this was hilarious ([o:)E Tilt your head to the right! It's a face with hair! Wahahaha... (courtesy of Vanessa - credit where credit is due!)

That I like best

My Dad picks the fruit
That goes to Cottees
That makes the cordial
That I like best.

Do you remember that ad? I have that song in my head right now. It's such a weird song, doesn't really make sense. But I suppose it's a testament to how effective the ad was if I'm still singing it! Or maybe I'm just a bit sad..

Finished all my exams today. Five! A record for me! Woohoo! Too bad I still have uni next week -- intensive workshops.. :[

Anyway, life is good eh? I just like complaining that's all. :]

Grot-ness

Hey guys.

Didn't really feel like posting, I feel like going to sleep. What am I doing here at midnight??! I must be delirious from lack of sleep.

I feel like going to sleep but I need to take a shower. And I really don't feel like taking a shower, so I'm posting. Yeah, I'm a grot.

Finished my 2 week prac at Bogan Primary School (ahaha, just kidding) on Friday. It's a nice school, I really am kidding about the bogan-ness of it. Sort of.

One kid: "I'm really rich because my family eat McDonalds every night for dinner!"
Another kid: "Well I'm rich too because we eat McDonalds too!"

Only about 6 more months to go and I'm finished. I'm really tired of all this. Gah!

Easter time

So tired...

Just finished working as a Easter Bunny minder -- really fun, but unfit legs and feet are hurting now. :[ It's great work, basically what I had to do was to walk around with the Easter Bunny, carry around the Easter eggs and hand them out to kids. These parents came up to us and told us to find their son Matthew - this kid in an Eagles guernsey - and scare him. So we went round Target, stalking this kid. Hilarious stuff, watching the Easter Bunny chase after a kid, shouting the kid's name.

Cracked me up, that Easter Bunny. Never seen one perform air guitar until tonight. :]

I saw two types of kids tonight -- the kid who shouts from the other side of the shopping centre, "HEY! It's the Easter Bunny!!" (and comes racing over). And the other type of kid who runs behind mum and starts crying. Aww...

I gave the eggs out but the kids thank the Easter Bunny! How selfish of the Easter Bunny to take my credit!!

Have a great Easter people!

Marching on

Trying my best to post regularly! :]

I always feel that March is the longest month of the year. I suppose that's also because February only has 28 days, so when you get to March... yeah, actually it doesn't really make sense. But we did just gain an extra hour the other day -- daylight savings is over. And April usually has so many holidays -- Easter, ANZAC Day... and so by comparison, March is long. I know, still doesn't really make much sense. But yay, it's almost over!

Thanks for all the people who came to my graduation! Made me feel popular! :]

So I suppose it's time for some random pictures!

Vibe Winthrop!

At Angeline & Marvin's graduation -- Vibe Crawley (past and present!)

And how could I not post this one??!! :]

Ooh, look at the mousse cake!

Hahahaha... anyway, thanks again guys!
