Lance is back!

My sister started her new school yesterday. I'm so jealous of how well she copes in social situations. Whereas I am borderline social phobic. :oP I do get nevous/anxious sometimes in certain social situations (especially if there's a lot of people there)!! Yes, I'm a weirdo!

Glad that we didn't have cell last night because then I got to watch Neighbours, who were celebrating their 20th Anniversary! This makes them the longest running soap opera in the world. It was so cool to see the people who I haven't seen for ages... like LANCE!!!! And Phil Martin, Annalise... it reminds me that I really am pretty old to remember all these characters!

Neighbours, everybody needs good neighbours...

Anyway, who can't wait for The Panel to come back on the TV? It's my favourite show. The Panel consists of primarily 5 members - Rob Sitch, Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner, Glenn Robbins, and Kate Langbroek. The first three people named are behind such shows as The Dish, The Castle, Frontline... Hilarious stuff!

Good segues

Finished reading the Harry Potter book that the very cool Jess and Chrissy lent me. And I have to say... wow. Oh man, I don't like how it's turning out. It is a great book, very well written, she really knows how to write! But stop with the deaths man!!!!

I was tempted to read through the night, as it was so engrossing. But I had work this morning, so I felt bad if I'm tired at work.

And about work (good segue hey!)... the mother told me today that they are moving to Secret Harbour around September. Secret Harbour is near Mandurah, so it's pretty far away. So I guess they're looking for a new therapist, and I'm looking for another family (or two). Argh, I love this family! It's the perfect first family to have. Family stress level is low, the kid learns fast, parents are super-nice. Hope the next family is just as good!

Just read this post through, it's so boringly boring! How can I inject some humour? Here, isn't this face cool? ====> ('0')

Man, it rocks.

Bro's b'day

My brother's birthday today. I haven't got him a present yet, so I should go today. So last minute man. But the trouble is that I don't really know what my brother likes. And the things I know he does like are expensive.

Anyway, he's turning 22, which sounds so so old! And he's only 18 months older than me! :o(

And I guess it's time for a random flashback memory:

When we were in primary school we had to wait after school for my uncle to pick us up -- amd go to CB shop afterwards, how depressing is that. Anyway, I remember we played noughts and crosses in the sand while waiting for my uncle. My bro would always go first and then he would win, or we would draw. I objected, saying that the person who goes first will always win.

So we had a rock throw to determine who would go first.

And being older, taller, and physically stronger, guess who would win?

... what a weird memory. It's so about nothing. It should be turned into a Seinfeld episode. Except that it's not really funny.

Ode to Canberra

I didn't realise that Lleyton Hewitt and Bec Cartwright are getting married this Thursday. How exciting. And I guess they had to make it quick because she's 5 months pregnant. What is with all these celebrities getting pregnant all of a sudden? It's a conspiracy! :OP

And Simon, who comments so much on this blog--previous blog post had a record 10 comments! Woohoo!--is leaving for Canberra again. I just finished reading a book by Bill Bryson, called Down Under. It's sort of like a travel book, with the author just travelling around Australia and stopping wherever he wants to (well, derrr). It's hilarious, he is an excellent writer.

Anyway, here is a section from the said book, which is regarding Canberra:

In 1996 the Prime Minister, John Howard, caused a stir after his election by declining to live in Canberra. He would, he announced, continue to reside in Sydney and commute to Canberra as duties required. As you can imagine, this caused an uproar among Canberra's citizens, presumably because they hadn't thought of it themselves. What made this particularly interesting is that John Howard is by far the dullest man in Australia. Imagine a very committed funeral home director - someone whose burning ambition from the age of eleven was to be a funeral home director, whose proudest achievement in adulthood was to be elected president of the Queanbeyan and District Funeral Home Directors' Association - halve his personality, then halve it again, and you have pretty well got John Howard. When a man is as outstandingly colourless as John Howard turns his nose up at a place you know it must be worth a look. I couldn't wait to see it.

I'm sure it's not that boring Simon!

Property Bubble

Played Monopoly a couple of weeks ago, with the weirdest set of rules, but it was fun. Anyway, there was a small insert in TIME Magazine about Monopoly that is hilarious:

Property Bubble
When the board game Monopoly hit London in 1936, the priciest property sold for a then staggering £400. That doesn't go far in London today, so a limited-edition 70th anniversary special Monopoly Here & Now brings the game up to date. New hot properties such as Notting Hill and Canary Wharf are selling for mini-money millions, a barrage of London icons--including the London Eye, Tate Modern and the new Wembley Stadium--have appeared and, instead of scooping $18 in a beauty contest, players who draw the right Chance card receive $183,000 for winning a reality TV show. The Free Parking square, however, is history. In London? Never!

And that's all I have to say. Holidays are nearly over...

Ooh, and just recieved an email from Emma! Her and Norelle are going to England to work for a year or so, so here's a link to her blog about their adventures in England. How exciting. (And I took down your so-called "sex blog" Amy)

And some of you may know that I was worried about my exam results, seeing as I failed a unit last year. If I failed again I wouldn't be able to complete my psych degree, so I was pissing myself when I checked the results. Funnily enough, I couldn't get into the website until yesterday. And anyway, praise God, I did okay. I probably won't be doing Honours, but I'm just overjoyed at being able to graduate. Woohoo!!!!

My life partner

Once again I am the only person left in the house. How did that happen?

I had my consultation with Auntie Betty yesterday. Some of you might know that I took a 'discover you gifts' seminar in church a while ago. Well, this was my consultation to determine which areas of ministry I should serve in. And suprise surprise, it ended up being the Children's Ministry, which I already serve in. So no changes for me.

However, instead of just ending the meeting right there, Auntie Betty started talking about random stuff - namely, whether I have prayed for my life partner or not. And that I should write a list of qualities I want in a guy. Because God likes to be specific.

And did you know that the first thing my Dad said to me when he came to campus camp was, "Do you have a boyfriend yet?"
Which I replied, "Yeah, heaps."
And then I saw Pastor Benny behind Dad, laughing.

So, yeah... hilarious.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY!!

Heh, guess who's old now?? Just kidding.

Well, nothing else to say... except that God loves me best! Oh man, I am so lucky!

Yellow Pages

Must be careful. Both Sharon and Kathy read my blog occasionally.

The picture is from Amy's camera, and is also on her blogsite. It's another of the many adventurous things that I do everyday. Taking pictures with the Yellow Pages guys. How exciting.

I am free next Friday, so if Hidi is free let's go out!!!! Perhaps there'll be more exciting adventures in store for us. Haha.
