Australia Day!

Hope you guys had a good Australia Day peoples! Went to watch the fireworks... was it just me or did the sky still look rather smoky? Anyway, I had a good time, except that it was a little windy.

Anyway, here are a few random pictures from the night. Notice how none of them are actually pictures of the fireworks.

And the random quote of the day is part of a song that we were talking about last night. Who remembers the children's television show 'Captain Planet and the Planeteers?

Random Quote of the Day: "Captain Planet, he's a hero, gonna take pollution down to zero..."

From left to right: Jo, Jess, Christine, and me! Sorry guys if your eyes look funny, we all had really red eyes, so I tried to fix it. Meh...

This was a random picture just to test if the camera flash was working (yeah, I have no idea about these things). I like it though, because the grass looks really green and my shoes look cool.

This last picture is pretty crap. The red circle in the middle is the moon. It was the biggest I've ever seen it, so I took a picture of it. Kinda stupid, but eh... And the moon looked much bigger in real life than it does here.

Hairy

Okay, so I went to get my haircut today. And the lady thinned it so much that I feel that there is nothing left. And I looked at all my hair on the ground...it's so sad. That used to be a part of me! Hehe.. yeah, I am mourning the loss of my hair. I'm that loserish. The hairdresser said that I have a natural wave in my hair, and that I should get the hair straightener and straighten my hair everyday.

I so can't be bothered. My daily hair ritual consists of brushing only! And not even brushing much. So the ritual doesn't even take two minutes. And I have to admit that if I am not planning to go outside, I will not brush my hair. I'll just tie it up when I wake up. Yes, I'm that lazy.

Maybe I can get my sister to straighten my hair while I just sit there. Hmmm... somehow, I doubt she'll do it. :OP

Anyway, that's it for now. My schedule is so full that I can't write too much. Haha, yeah right.

And the quote of the day is from Seinfeld. Instead of saying "God bless you" when someone sneezes, this is what you should say instead. The logic behind this is because saying "God bless you" doesn't really help the person sneezing, so you should say something that does.

Random Quote of the Day: "You're sooo good-looking".

So bad news for me. Many of you guys would know that I applied and was accepted to do this autism training program. Well, I rang the coordinator yesterday and I can't do it anymore. She had two deaths in her family (I think one was her father), one after the other. So everthing got delayed, and she didn't accept any new kids to be trained. As a result, she didn't need as many people to do the training. And she called a lot of people but many were away, working, or she couldn't get hold of. And a few of you would know that my mobile phone was (as Jessie likes to say) PMS-ing, so she couldn't get a hold of me. And it's too late now. :(

I won't pretend that I'm not disappointed, but life goes on, right? To many people it may seem as a bunch of crazy coincidences, but I know that this was God's plan for me. I have faith that there is something better for me waiting for me (well, maybe not better, but equally good? :P). So, yeah...

And a disclaimer about the random quote in the previous post. I debated whether to put it down because I know it sounds mean. But I think that no one in this world is actually ugly, so you guys don't have to worry. You can have comfort in the fact that if I was a fighter, I would fight you. Hehe..

Watched 'Lady Fan' last night. I know Amy, it's heaps old. But me and my sister stayed up late to watch it. And I am ashamed to say that she showed much more endurance than I did. Yeah, it's the oldness. I can feel it in my bones. Hehe.. :D

And for those living in Perth: close your windows! It's so smoky outside. There is still a lot of fires going on.

Random Quote of the Day: "You are special. Just like everybody else."

Don't yell at me for the quote. It's funny and sort of true. Everyone is special.

Get out in the sunshine, with vitamin D

Hey guys! Hope your holidays have been good so far...

Went to the beach yesterday with some of my favourite people. Although the temperature was boiling, the water was surprisingly cold. Which was good. And my hair did go crusty.. hehe Jo!! So it was a really nice day. And now I have that vitamin song in my head. You know, the advertisement that goes, "Get out in the sunshine, with vitamin D... and here's vitamin E...thank you vitamin D..." It probably makes no sense to people who have no idea what advert I'm talking about. But it's such a cool song.

Right now I am eating leftover lasagne that my Dad made. It doesn't really taste nice but I am forcing myself to eat it. My Dad hates to waste food. So yeah...I have such an interesting life... *dripping sarcasm* But I like having a boring life. It's cool.

I picked up some relatives from the airport on Friday. I drove a car and my uncle drove another car. My uncle's car wouldn't start, so we had to jump start it. So in the end, we were half an hour late to pick them up. And when we arrived at the airport, his car wouldn't start again. But this time, we didn't have the link cable thingy (I can't remember what it's called). Murphy's Law, right? So we waited around for an hour or so for another uncle to come with them. But it's all good, considering I hardly ever go to the airport. I reckon they should have one of those 'Welcome to Perth' signs and people standing there singing 'Waltzing Matilda' or something. Like in Hawaii where they give the people those flower necklace thingies (I can't remember what this is called either).

Okay, so I am just randomly blabbing here, just to make this post longer. I don't have a random quote, let me scrounge something up.

Alrighty, I've got one. This one is probably a general life rule. I have no idea where I got this, I saved a lot of random quotes previously.

Reminiscing

My sister and I walked through our old primary school the other day. So many things has changed since I was last there. The flag area has gone (replaced by a playground), and so has the pipe-box.

A lot of things are still there though. "The Wall" is still standing. This is where naughty girls and boys would go at recess/lunch and write "demons" (Demons are just hard words to spell). Kids who didn't bring a hat would also be sitting there (because of the school's 'no hat, no play' policy). Ahh, the memories.

The drink fountains seem so low now. At least now I can say that I have grown taller...

I remember that when I first entered highschool, I hated it because I loved primary school so much. Then I didn't like uni much because I loved highschool. And I know that when (or if) I start working, I'm going to miss uni heaps. I think it's because I hate change. Well, not hate, 'cos that's such a harsh word... dislike, maybe. Well, change is supposed to be good. I think. So yay for change then. *sarcasm rolling*

And the quote of the day sort of supports me. Sort of. I'm sure Aristotle wasn't thinking along the same lines as I am when he said/wrote this.

Old Soul

Hey, I saw this on Liz's blog first, but I stumbled on the link on another blog. The quiz seemed interesting enough for me to take, so here it is...

You Are an Old Soul
You are an experience soul who appreciates tradition. Mellow and wise, you like to be with others but also to be alone. Down to earth, you are sensible and impatient. A creature of habit, it takes you a while to warm up to new people.
You hate injustice, and you're very protective of family and friends. A bit demanding, you expect proper behavior from others. Extremely independent you don't mind living or being alone. But when you find love, you tend to want marriage right away.
Souls you are most compatible with: Warrior Soul and Visionary Soul

Haha, I sound so good, right? Way better than I would have imagined, except for that demanding thing! And that last line about marriage is a little freaky...

And the quote for today is completely random, but I would have wrote this quote someday.

Random Quote of the Day: "If only I could be as cool as you..." -- silverchair, from 'Freak', and the album Freakshow.

That Crazy Lady

I reckon I should post, seeing as I haven't for over a week. But my life is boring in the holidays, it consists of eating, sleeping, reading, and (right now) watching Gilmore Girls. And that pretty much sums up my holidays.

But I love my house, so no complaints here. I think that I would make a pretty good recluse if I wanted. I'm not a very sociable person and I am not really into parties. I wonder what job you do if you were a recluse. Maybe just be that crazy lady in the neighbourhood who throws cats at tresspassers. I'm sure every suburb has one, the house where primary school kids walk past really fast, and where highschool kids dare each other to jump the fence and look inside. Hehe... sounds like a good life for me.

And the random quote for today - this is quoted by Mussolini, but I heard it when I was watching Gilmore Girls. If I ever get married (and that looks like a big if), remind me to have this quote printed on all the wedding invites/program.

Random Quote of the Day: "We have buried the putrid corpse of liberty"
