Me having a life

Crap crap crap crap. I just posted some stuff and it all got deleted. I'm sure it was good stuff too. Very interesting.

Anyway, it turns out that I'm quite busy this week. Ah ha, I have a life! Finally!

How exciting.

Anyway, today was fun. Except for the times when Hidi and Amy ganged up on me. =P So mean hey, when older people bully younger people. Heheh...

Anyway, today's quote comes from Ms Hidi Lee. Not sure if the words are verbatim, I can't rememeber if it's exactly what you said!

"Parentsy"

Isn't it really sad when your parents have a more exciting social life than you? Heaps sad.

Yesterday night my parents went to some guy's house (with people from my Dad's cell there). My parents got back at 1.40am. I was asleep at the time, but my Dad knocked on my window (from outside) and said, "Alison, can you open the door for us? We're locked out."

What a role reversal right? I should have said, "where have you been? It's nearly 2.00am! You have some explaining to do..." Not that my parents say things like that to me, but it's a "parentsy" thing to say.

How depressing.

Ducks

One interesting thing that happened during the week:

Walking home, I went through a park last week. Stopped to rest (haha, bag was heavy... and I'm so unfit man!) on a park bench. The bench was right near the river, so there were heaps of ducks standing around. Here's the funny thing -- the ducks are so conditioned that whenever they see humans, they expect food. Have you ever had like 15 ducks all waddle up and surround you in a creepy way? It was a life-threatening situation. I swear. The ducks all had a mad glint in their eyes...

But hey, you can all be comforted that I got out unscathed. =D

Random Quote of the Day: "Please drink beef soup." -- this was taped on the door of my bedroom, by my Dad.

Oh, and I took away the box thingies from my last post. They were really pissing me off.

And also erased Amy's blog link... *sob sob* I thought you weren't going to erase it?

Meh...

So Hidi asked me to update my blog... but I have nothing really to say. I took an English test online the other day though... not sure if it's accurate:

Advanced
You scored 93% Beginner, 93% Intermediate, 93% Advanced, and 72% Expert!

You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels' questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don't use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.

Thank you so much for taking my test. I hope you enjoyed it!

For the complete Answer Key, visit my blog: http://shortredhead78.blogspot.com/.

My test tracked 4 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:

You scored higher than 33% on Beginner
You scored higher than 30% on Intermediate
You scored higher than 56% on Advanced
You scored higher than 58% on Expert

Hey... only 3 more percent and I would have gone to the next level... you know, exceptionally smart or something.

Laughing Bag

I am in the library right now, instead of g25 as my lecture finished way after g25 closes. I wish I had one of those after-hour card thingys. When do you get them? I saw some Honours people with them, but Jessie says that she didn't get one.

It's now around 7.15pm. I am waiting for the clock to get around 9pm, to go to Ling's convocation. I hope she likes the present that I bought on behalf of the cell. But I can imagine everyone yelling at me, 'cos the present is soooo stupid. It's a laughing bag. That's what it's called. I think it's cool. I was going to get something useful, like a business card holder, or one of those pen/notepad holder thingys. But I saw the laughing bag, and I had to get it. It's so good. But stupid at the same time.

Laughing bag

It's now 7.36pm!

Adventurous

Did something that I would call adventurous today. Well, something that I would not normally do anyway.

Today Amy and I went to the ASIA (one of those society clubs in UWA, I think it stands for Asian Students In Australia) BBQ. I've never been to any club functions before, so this was a new experience. We saw that people were wearing name tags, so Amy and I decided to make up fake names. She was Mia, and I was Ava (we wanted short names, and this was the only name I could think of -- Jo's future daughter's name). I felt a little bad telling the guy who was writing the name tags what my name was, but oh well.

But basically all we did was get the free hotdogs, eat them, the leave. So all in all, a great adventure. Two thumbs up.

So there it is. My adventure. Don't laugh at me. :)

g25

I am in my favourite room of the whole uni right now. G25. It is no longer Dorcas' "dingy lab" anymore as they have new spiffy looking computers. I don't like the monitors though, they're too big. People would be able to see what you're doing from a mile away. I'm sure there are many people behind me reading what I'm typing right now.

Nah, no one could be that sad and bored to read my ramblings.

Anyway, I just had my first lecture! Man, I missed Dan Milech over the holidays. Just kidding. Seriously.

No random quote because there is already a quote for today.

Uni

So today is my first official day at uni. Over the summer, I have gotten used to saying, "I failed a unit". So now, it doesn't seem so bad. I guess the worst part was telling my parents. But they took it okay. I think, anyway.

So anyway, this year is going to be pretty weird. I've never failed before. I know that I'm going to feel old. Well, I feel old anyway (Soon I'll be saying, "Ow, I feel a crick in me back...")

Not much else to say, except that the referendum on shopping hours resulted in a majority 'no, no' vote. Which is what I voted for. So yay, no extended shopping hours for us.

Hmmm, now let me just find a quote the finish...
